Impact of polycrystalline ingot on the efficiency of solar batteries

In 2012, China's polycrystalline ingot furnace photovoltaic industry entered cold winter due to factors such as global economic recession, overcapacity of photovoltaics, falling prices, US “double opposition” and European “anti-dumping”. The gross profit margin of PV downstream enterprises has fallen sharply, and most companies are facing serious losses. Domestic polysilicon production in the first half of 2013 was significantly lower than last year. In the first half of 2013, domestic polysilicon production was 28,000 tons, down 23.6% year-on-year. Affected by various factors such as supply and demand and trade, most of China's polysilicon enterprises have stopped production in 2012.

In order to improve the photoelectric conversion efficiency of solar cells, the photovoltaic industry has introduced a polycrystalline ingot furnace technology. The technology adopts an ordinary cell sheet manufacturing process, so that the conversion efficiency of the polycrystalline silicon wafer can reach more than 17.3% (now up to about 18%). The key to polycrystalline ingot furnace technology is to reduce dislocations and other defects in the crystal.
